OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF EBONYI STATE OF NIGERIA TO VIETNAM.

His Excellency, Chief Martin Nwancho Elechi the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State led a 23 man delegation comprising of 2 Commissioners, aids and seventeen (17)farmers on official visit to Vietnam with a view to exploring the abundant agricultural potentials and opportunities in Vietnam that could be harnessed for the benefit of Nigeria in general and Ebonyi State in particular. 

During the visit, the Executive Governor and the delegation were warmly received by the Ambassador, H.E Mazi Matthias Ojih Okafor and the entire staff of the Embassy, after which the Executive Governor and the delegation visited the following organizations and companies as already scheduled:

  1. Visitation to the Field Crops Research Institute (FCRI) Hai Duong, Vietnam;
  2. Visitation to the Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation (VEAM),Hanoi;
  3. Visitation to Biogas Project at Thai Nguyen Province, Vietnam, and;
  4. Visitation to International Collaboration Center for Agriculture and Fisheries Sustainability (ICAFIS) of Hanoi, Vietnam.


Remarkably, the team was impressed by the enormous progress made by Vietnam in Agricultural sector and consequently expressed willingness and acceptance to go into partnership with relevant authorities. In this regard, a draft MoU was presented by the Field Crop Research Institute of Vietnam to the Executive Governor and his team for close study with the hope of signing it very soon as was the case with the Benue State Government. 

In concluding the visit, the Ambassador, H.E Mazi Matthias Ojih Okafor hosted the Governor and his team to a dinner reception at his residence.
