On May 4th 2015, 30 life vests were donated by the International Collaborating Centre for Aquaculture and Fisheries Sustainability (ICAFIS /VINAFIS) to fisherman in Quynh Lap commune, Hoang Mai, Nghe An province.
Quynh Lap is coastal area within Nghe An province with the greatest number of fishing vessels. Due to climate change impacts, limited budgets and the difficulties of sea travel, fishing safety is poor and safety equipment and devices are lacking.Therefore, ICAFIS/VINAFIS chose Quynh Lap as the first commune to donate life vests for the 2014-2015 period. This campaign will expand to many coastal areas in the future.
