Energy demand is an essential need in all aspects of life, from daily activities to production. Not only in industrial sectors, but the demand for electricity and safety in shrimp farming is also an urgent issue for shrimp farmers. The shrimp farming industry is undergoing significant transformation, shifting from traditional methods to modern super-intensive farming, using many electrical devices. However, the shrimp farming environment and energy-saving practices are still weak, as farmers lack deep experience and skills in designing, operating, and using electrical systems safely and efficiently. Therefore, ensuring safe and energy-efficient electricity usage in shrimp farming is crucial for farmers during the farming process. The Electricity Safety Handbook for Shrimp Farming is supported by the "Sustainable and Inclusive Shrimp Value Chain Development in Vietnam – SusV" project, funded by the EU and implemented by Oxfam Vietnam and the International Center for Aquaculture and Fisheries Sustainability (ICAFIS). The handbook was developed to help shrimp farmers understand the design, operation, and efficient use of equipment. It also provides guidance on methods for energy saving and safe electricity use to minimize electrical risks. As this is the first edition of the handbook, we acknowledge that some errors may be present. We, the authors, kindly welcome feedback from readers to further improve and update the handbook.
