{ICAFIS-GRAISEA} Efforts to implement activities in the context of Covid-19

The covid-19 epidemic is increasingly having a profound effect on the lives of the people of Vietnam and both the world. A series of measures, resolutions, and decisions have been taken to prevent the spread of the disease as well as to support difficulties for people in the epidemic. Social distancing and implementation of the Ministry of Health's 5K Message have become an integral part. That is why the activities within the framework of the project "Gender Transformative & Responsible Business Investment in South East Asia  - GRAISEA2" are implemented by the  International Collaborating Centre for Aquaculture and Fisheries  Sustainability and Oxfam in Vietnam are also more or less delayed. Currently, because the government has carried out wide vaccination coverage, and after 2 months of implementing the Government's Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP dated October 11, 2021 on "Safe adaptation, flexibility, control effectively control the COVID-19 epidemic", the situation of the COVID-19 epidemic is basically under control, people's lives gradually return to a new normal.

In the Mekong Delta provinces, especially the cooperatives in the project area, production activities are gradually recovering. However, many problems arise, one of which is how to improve the economy of households in general and cooperative groups in particular. Joining hands with the whole country to fight the epidemic while ensuring work progress, helping households to stabilize their economy during and after the epidemic, within the framework of the GRAISEA2 project, ICAFIS has conducted training courses on "Instructing financial management methods and building production plans for households" on October 22, 2021, "Building business and production plans for each household" on 19/ 11/2021 and 4/12/2021 for cooperatives and women's groups in the project area. At the same time, coordinate with Soc Trang Provincial Fisheries Sub-Department to carry out the activity "Survey on demand for aquaculture activities in 2022" on November 25, 26, and 27 at project cooperatives in the province. That help to have an honest look and support close to the needs of the people; Coordinate with Bac Lieu Agricultural Extension Center to conduct two technical training courses "Managing factors that cause disease in shrimp in the rainy season, adapting to climate change"...

The training brings out useful knowledge, which can be applied in daily life, production service, and mitigation of consequences from hazards such as epidemics, climate change, etc.  The training sessions also help people change the atmosphere, dispel the gloom of the epidemic to fight, produce and welcome new resounding successes.
