ICAFIS Organizes Study Tour on Freshwater Fish Farming Models in Northern Vietnam for Village Link (Myanmar)

From February 12 to 18, ICAFIS (International Cooperation Center for Sustainable Aquaculture and Fisheries) organized a study tour on freshwater fish farming models in Northern Vietnam for a delegation from Village Link (Myanmar). This program is part of the Green Aquaculture Nutrition Project in Myanmar (NGA-Myanmar), which ICAFIS is collaborating on.

Vietnam is recognized as one of the countries with a highly developed aquaculture industry in Southeast Asia and Asia, particularly in the field of freshwater fish farming, a sector currently being expanded in Myanmar.

During the six-day program, the delegation had the opportunity to visit Aquaculture Research Centers, fish hatcheries, and farms cultivating various fish species such as snakehead, grass carp, common carp, tilapia, salmon, and sturgeon in the provinces of Bac Ninh, Nam Dinh, and Lao Cai. The delegation also learned from leading experts and experienced fish farmers.

It is hoped that this trip provided the delegation with valuable and useful information, supporting the development of the aquaculture industry in Myanmar.
